conversion of off-the-shelf gasoline engines to run on diesel (and JP-8, JP-5, and Jet-A fuels). The photo shows a 26cc 2-stroke engine (1.5 HP) that runs on JP-8 mixed with 50:1 oil. Power output and fuel consumption are identical to the original gasoline version of the motor and the engine starts on diesel fuel (i.e. no special fuels are required for starting). The engine weight is only 2 ounces greater than the stock version and it can operate on gasoline or diesel fuel by changing the carburetor mixture adjustments - no other changes are necessary to switch fuel types. MLB diesel-converted engines are rated for over 500 hours life.
The MLB diesel engines have been flight-tested in the Bat 3 UAV and have performed flawlessly under harsh flying conditions. MLB is now pleased to offer diesel-fueled engines to interested parties for projects that require common-fuel compatibility.
