The MLB Company (http://www.spyplanes.com) flew their Bat mini-UAV autonomously for 7 hours on October 4, 2003, demonstrating the highest endurance of any production UAV under 20 lbs gross weight. During the 7 hour flight, the Bat delivered live video of specified locations and took over 200 high resolution digital still images. The still imagery was part of a change-detection experiment in which the same stretch of highway was photographed every hour with a resolution of 5 inches per pixel. Using inertial data from the Bat's flight control system, these images were assembled by MLB into image maps that were used to show changes in traffic patterns and other activity on the ground over each one-hour interval
